The Commonwealth is doing regional marine planning as well. How do the two tie together?

The State Government chose the south coast as the first area in which to undertake regional marine planning in part because it was adjacent to part of the area covered by the Commonwealth marine bioregional planning process, which stretches from Kangaroo Island in South Australia to offshore Shark Bay. Close contact is being maintained between the State and Commonwealth governments to ensure maximum integration of the two planning approaches.
